Yesterday we finalized the logo for the show since many in the cast will need to wear T-shirts bearing its design for a good portion of it. With the expertise of Jen Felty, my comrade in all theatrical endeavors right now, and who excels in design and publicity, we've managed to hone our "brand," asking ourselves the question, What is the purest message, the ultimate take-away of this show? And it's clear it's only one thing... to respond to the invitation of God to live our lives before our Audience of One. The words on the tee are taken from the lyrics at the end of the final song:
...Generations come and go
But our stories help them know
That Your faithfulness is sure like the mountain
Joy in our suffering springs like a fountain
And Your invitation stands for all of time
To live our lives before You...
Tonight someone's comment on the promo video below reminded me afresh of the confirming dream one of the youngest members of my youth choir had when the vision of the Audience of One trip was first presented. She wondered how I'd known what she dreamed. In her dream, Jesus was standing on the mountain smiling, saying to her, "And everyone who comes will be richly blessed." I know that's still true now, all these years later, in every stage and aspect of this musical.
We are working like elves at Christmastime, and 35 people are learning music and lines to get ready for the 27th! Will you join us for the first public reading (and singing!) of this show, and bring your friends? The evening promises to be refreshing in every way, and by your presence and support, you magnify the light and love of Christ in our midst.
With love and joy,
—ab
I so wish I could fly over from Ireland to be there! Wishing you the ultimate best a week from tonight!
